Hello again darling,
This is definitely going to take a while to not feel weird and uncomfortable. I’m sure years ago, and for some still today, it was a natural thing to write for your children but it is still a little strange to me. That’s why I think this is so important though. There are a lot of quotes from a lot of smart people that explain this same lesson but one of the simplest is from Ryan Holiday:
“The obstacle is the way.”
I could have easily just continued to talk about this, been lazy and let it slip by the wayside. I mean I have a busy schedule and that in itself is enough of an excuse right? No. If it’s important NEVER put it off. By choosing to do it right now I have overcome that obstacle of mediocrity in my head, I have taken a step over the obstacle of just being ‘good enough’. It is a constant struggle that you, me and everyone else will face everyday but we need to look at every obstacle and tackle it head on my sweet girl. That’s where the growth is and that is the path to something special.
I have no doubt that you will amaze your mother and I daily, I just hope that something I write in these letters can help to make your obstacles a little more manageable.
Always trust your instincts darling, and you will be just fine.
